Blogs About Troubleshooting and Maintaining Heavy Construction Equipment and More

Welcome to my blog. My name is Dan, and I used to work in the construction industry. There I wore a hard hat, but I also wore a lot of other 'hats', from labour to management. Now I've moved on from that industry, but as a property investor, I frequently hire construction crews or contractors. I have a few rentals and some homes that I fix up to sell. At any rate, I've been around heavy equipment for a significant part of my life, and now I want to create a blog to give back. These posts will be about troubleshooting and maintaining heavy construction equipment.

Truck Seats: The Various Styles You Could Consider

One of the car components motorists do not commonly consider replacing is their car seats. However, there are a number of reasons that the time may come when you need to get either a new drivers seat or change out all the seats of your truck. Perhaps you got involved in an accident that left your seats badly damaged. On the other hand, you may have purchased a second-hand vehicle whose seats have become decrepit over time. Either way, if you are looking for new truck seats, you have several options. Below are some of the various styles that you could consider for your truck seats.

Individual seats

This is one of the most popular style motorists gravitate toward when contemplating truck seats. As the name suggests, these seats are designed to sit one person at a time. They are typically made from leather so as to add some luxury to your vehicle, but you can get them upholstered in more affordable materials. One of the main benefits of the individual seat is that it allows the driver to sink in deeper into the seat. This provides a more comfortable driving experience. The individual seat can be designed with a built-in headrest, or you could opt for a design that comes with the headrest as a separate component.

Captain's seat

This type of seat is a cross between an individual truck seat and the types of driver's seats found on ships, hence the name captain's chair. A captain's seat will be designed with armrests to enhance comfort for the driver. It should also be noted that the captain's chair will have a more upright position when compared to conventional seats. Lastly, a captain's chair has the capability to swivel around. This is to allow the driver to turn around and face the other passengers in the vehicle when the car has been parked. This feature makes the captain's seat much more suitable for larger vehicles such as trucks, campervans and more.

50/50 seats

If you are looking to replace both the seats at the front of your truck, you may want to consider 50/50 seats. These types of seats are designed to accommodate both the driver and the passenger, rather than simply being designed to enhance the comfort of the driver. The 50/50 seats provide equal space for both the passenger and the driver. It should be noted that this style of seat can only be installed if your truck does not have a console installed in the middle of the driver and the passenger.
